Construct Tomorrow Program: Getting Students Engaged in the Trades

JANUARY 19, 2023

Construct Tomorrow group brings construction career awareness to the next generation workforce

GIVING HANDS ON CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCES TO YOUTH:
Founded in 2013, Construct Tomorrow was formed to bring awareness to high school students about the amazing post-secondary opportunities in the construction and building trades industries.

Working with all of the Union Building and Construction Trades leaders, LIUNA MN & ND joins together for a series of up to 10 Construct Tomorrow hands-on career events each year throughout the State of Minnesota reaching thousands of students since the inception of the program. The purpose of these interactive events is to create an experience that engages young people and draws their interest into the construction trades as a potential future career for them to consider. The professional representatives of the Union Building Trades take the time to show tools many tools of our trade and offer valuable information on our variety of Union Apprenticeship programs. In addition, students learn about professional training with no out of pocket cost, in an earn while you learn model. Students get insight on Union benefits as well, including health coverage, retirement (Pension), training as part of their future Union membership.
