Rain Couldn’t Keep Them Away!

“4TH Annual Laborers Ride for Charity” Raises over $7,500

for Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities

Laborers Local 132 Secretary, Ron Thornburg & Laborers Local 563 Business Agent, Mitchell Nohrenberg, will be presenting a nice check to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Twin Cities, thanks to some great supporters and very dedicated motorcycle riders of the 4th Annual Laborers Ride for Charity event.

The event, held on Saturday August 18th at the Construction Laborers Training Center was a success despite the steady and often heavy rainfall.   The biker volunteers adjusted their course slightly--for safety reasons--and arrived back at the training center as scheduled, just in time for hot hamburgers, baked beans and bratwurst.

“If everybody just realizes, it’s all about the kids.  No matter if they give time or money to support the Ronald McDonald House, it’s all about helping the kids.” said Thornburg.

Additional volunteers helping support the event included members from Laborers Local 563, Laborers Local 563-St.Cloud, Laborers Local 132, the Construction Laborers Training Center and Minnesota LECET.

Next year’s 5th Annual event is already set for August 16, 2008.
